Mosquito Project Workshop & Stouts, Millers & Forky-Tails Book Signing with Hugh Whitney

Calling all citizen scientists!

Join Tegan Padgett of the MUN Newfoundland & Labrador Mosquito Project, and Hugh Whitney, co-author of Stouts, Millers & Forky-Tails, and former Provincial Chief Veterinarian for a fascinating workshop on mosquitos.  at the Cape St. Mary’s Interpretation Centre on Sunday, July 21 at 2:00 pm

Newfoundland and Labrador has limited information regarding what mosquito species are present, what viral-pathogens they carry and related public health risks. This province is the only one that has not yet detected the West Nile virus. The aim of this project is to use citizen scientists to collect mosquito samples from across the province for understanding mosquito species distribution.

After the workshop Hugh will be signing copies of Stouts, Millers & Forky-Tails at the Friends of Cape St. Mary’s Rookery Store at the Interpretation Centre.

The workshop is a part of the Cape St. Mary’s Performance Series which starts on Saturday evening, July 20.
