Saltwater Classics book launch and knit-in

Boulder Books is proud to release its latest book, Saltwater Classics from the Island of Newfoundland: More than 25 favourite caps, vamps, and mittens to knit.

As their follow-up to the award-winning, best-selling Saltwater Mittens, Christine LeGrow and Shirley Scott have collected and expertly recreated some of Newfoundland’s best loved knitwear. Along the way, they’ve sprinkled in a hefty dose of their own creative flair in presenting stunning patterns you’ll never see anywhere else.

From salt-and-pepper caps to boot socks, and from trigger mitts to vamps (slippers), this book has something for everyone. All patterns are rated by difficulty and clearly presented for today’s knitters.

The dozens of colour photographs will inspire you to make your own bold colour choices—and encourage you to go outside and face the elements in your new cozy pieces. Featuring tips, tricks, and tales, Saltwater Classics is a book for everyone.

Boulder will launch Saltwater Classics on September 26, from 4:30 to 6:30 pm at The Grounds café in Portugal Cove (1525 Portugal Cove Rd., at Murray’s Garden Centre). Everybody is welcome.

As part of the launch Christine and Shirley will host a knit-in, where you are invited to bring knitwear you own or have made yourself. The authors want to hear stories about your favourite mittens, caps, vamps, and socks.
