Henry Youle Hind
Geologist and naturalist Henry Youle Hind (1823-1908) received an MA from Trinity University in Toronto 1853 and a DCL from King’s College in Nova Scotia in 1890. In 1857, he led his first expedition, with the aim of finding the best route between Lake superior and the Red River Settlement. He also led the Assiniboine and Saskatchewan Exploring Expedition in 1858 and the Labrador Expedition of 1861
