Dan Rubin
Dan Rubin is a retired educator with a history of innovative program development that earned him a teaching excellence award from Prime Minister Jean Chrétien in 2000. Since moving to the coast of Newfoundland in 2002, he has been supporting his local community as an arts administrator, music producer, and garden educator. In his little seaside garden, north of St. John’s, he has developed simple techniques for growing vegetables, herbs, fruit and flowers in a challenging climate. His latest book, Sun, Seed & Soil: Tips and Techniques for a Northern Garden is the result. Dan is the author of five books and award-winning short fiction and poetry. His writing has been anthologized and featured more than once on CBC radio.
