Boulder Books authors, Jenny Higgins and Robin McGrath, will participate in the 2019 Sparks Literary Festival on Sunday, January 27 from 10:30 am – 6:00pm.
Jenny will speak about her upcoming book: Agnes Ayre’s ABCs of Amazing Newfoundland and Labrador Women
Jenny invites you to join legendary artist and activist Agnes Ayre (1890-1943) as she leads readers through an alphabetical introduction to some of the most remarkable women from Newfoundland and Labrador history. You’ll meet scientists, artists, philanthropists, writers, athletes, adventurers, and more. You’ll also get to know a trailblazing group of suffragists who altered the course of this province’s history.
Robin will talk about her latest book: Life on the Mista Shipu: Dispatches from Labrador.
Robin acts as a navigator, guiding locals and visitors alike around parts of Labrador—particularly the interior—that are too often overlooked. She offers the reader candid glimpses of human and natural history, of local colour and characters, and of the culture of the three founding peoples of modern Labrador.
