Robyn Lacy is an archaeologist, author, and gravestone conservator. She has been interested in burial grounds ever since field school in Ireland, sitting in the rain in a medieval graveyard, and the rest is history. She has authored several academic books, including Daisy Wheel, Hexfoil, Hexafoil, Rosette: Protective Marks in Gravestone Art, published by Berghahn Books in 2024. Robyn has a PhD in Archaeology from Memorial University, and has done fieldwork across Canada, as well as in Ireland, and the Isle of Man. She currently serves as an adjunct professor in Memorial’s Archaeology Department.
Originally from Nova Scotia, she moved to Newfoundland in 2015 and has been enamoured with the province’s history ever since. Along with her partner, their small business Black Cat Cemetery Preservation travels the island and into Labrador, working with heritage groups and families to restore historic burial grounds.
